Contract Type: Temporary for 12 months

 

We have two new exciting opportunities for Property Disposal Clerks based at Attercliffe, Sheffield and College Road, Doncaster, both on a temporary basis for 12 months.

The roles will work alongside the property teams at Sheffield and Doncaster to assist with disposal of evidential and found property items, via a variety of different waste streams.

Key Responsibilities are:

  • To identify items for disposal from the property system and to recover the items from stores.
  • To update the computer database with the disposal details and assist with the chasing of officers and staff for decisions regarding their property.
  • To assist the property store and enquiry desks with the return to owner process.
  • To deal with property enquiries from officers or members of the public.

Skills and experience:

  • Must have relevant stores experience which can include, auditing, lifting heavy items, retrieval of property/items from its storage location.
  • Experience of dealing with members of the public face to face and over the telephone.
  • Computer literate with experience of data input and retrieval using Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to travel – Hold full clean manual driving license.
  • Due to the nature of the role, must provide biometric sample (DNA) as required to ensure ongoing inclusion on the relevant elimination databases for policing purposes.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
