An opportunity has arisen to fill an exciting, busy and varied role providing business support to the Office of The Police and Crime Commissioner for South Yorkshire.

You will be required to undertake a range of clerical, keyboard and data input duties as directed by the Office Manager, including business support to the OPCC general office, HR support to the Office Manager and financial support to the Finance Team.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to provide a high standard of customer service to colleagues of all levels across various departments, members of the public and suppliers.

You will have a proven record of accomplishment in a clerical/administrative and financial environment and must demonstrate excellent organisational skills to manage a demanding and multi-faceted workload to meet deadlines.

You will undertake general administrative duties, including arranging refreshments and hospitality for meetings, formatting and printing meeting papers, logging and distributing correspondence from members of the public (via email, post, telephone).

You will assist the Office Manager to develop and produce a range of HR reports to maintain accurate records and assist with producing documentation for the recruitment and induction process for the OPCC.

Financial experience is required to raise requisitions for goods and services, using the relevant database e.g. IProcurement, processing of invoices, expenses and journals, receipting goods and services.

To be considered you will have the ability to work independently and maintain accuracy under pressure to meet deadlines. You must be able to use your own initiative and be proactive in seeking opportunities to develop the role.

You will have a working knowledge of creating and maintaining spreadsheets and have experience of Microsoft applications including Word and Excel.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years / 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.

All tattoos and piercings must be in line with South Yorkshire Police’s Appearance and Standards policy. Tattoos visible on your face, neck, hands or head are not permitted. Any tattoos which could be deemed inappropriate or cause offence will also not be accepted. If you have tattoos, you will need to make a declaration at the time of application.

Closing Date:

Sunday, 15th December 2019

Closing dates are not normally extended, other than in exceptional circumstances and agreement is made with the HR Manager, Recruitment and the Line Manager for the role.

Shortlisting will take place w/c 16 December with testing and interviews taking place on the 8th January 2020. Candidates should note that appointment to this position is subject to successfully passing vetting clearance, at the appropriate level.
