Contract Type: Temporary for 12 months

We are looking for 3 Cleaning Operatives to work on a temporary basis for 12 months, the vacancies are:

  • 13 hours at Robert Dyson House Training Centre, Wath-on-Dearne
  • 16 hours at Churchfields, Barnsley
  • 16 hours at Snig, Hill, Sheffield

The cleaning services function ensures that the offices, toilets, changing rooms, shower rooms, kitchens, public areas, meeting and conference rooms and all other working areas, furniture, equipment and floor spaces are maintained to a high level of general cleanliness and remain presentable and fit for their intended purpose.

As a Cleaning Operative you are responsible for undertaking cleaning operations, organising and planning routine tasks to ensure that locations are cleaned to the standard required. You will be required to cover locations within your area to cover for abstractions.

Skills and experience:

  • Industrial/Commercial Cleaning work history or equivalent
  • Experience of working to specifications
  • BIC’s trained or willing to work towards a qualification
  • Trained in Chemical identification (COSHH) or willing to work towards a qualification
  • Willing to work unsociable hours as required
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
