SYP - Head of Resourcing

Role: Head of Resourcing at South Yorkshire Police

Term: Fixed Term contract 6-9 months

Band: H scale

Salary: £44,454 – £49,557 per annum

Hours: 37 per week

Location: Sheffield

This is a fixed term post for the HR – Head of Resourcing for South Yorkshire Police.

This is a critical appointment for the organisation and requires someone who is demonstrably passionate resourcing and bringing quality and focus to delivering an outstanding public service experience. The post holder is expected to:

• Manage and lead the resourcing function, which includes the delivery of workforce planning in South Yorkshire Police, and recruitment South Yorkshire and Humberside Police Forces.
• Manage and lead the business administration function for HR across South Yorkshire and Humberside Police Forces.
• Contribute towards the evidence-based strategic planning and decision making through the provision of high quality business intelligence and management information
• Manage and develop highly engaged, respected and effective teams.
• Engage with hiring managers to conduct resourcing requirement forecasts, evaluating the data analytics necessary to support and optimise recruitment successes.
• Play a key role in enabling the organisation to achieve the aims and objectives of the Workforce Plan, improving audit outcomes

Essential Experience

• Relevant HR qualification (e.g. CIPD) or equivalent, relevant experience
• Awareness of the strategic, political and operational context and goals of police forces.
• Knowledge and understanding of the operational realities of managing a resourcing function within a large organisation. Understanding of issues facing workforce planning/modernisation in the Police Service. 
• Prior experience of working strategically and demonstrating a track record of using evidence to improve HR performance and managing changes
