An exciting opportunity has become available within the Specialist Crime Services department of South Yorkshire Police. As part of the role responsibilities, the successful candidate will be responsible for the secure storage & safekeeping of exhibits (Human Tissue) in accordance with the Major Incident Room Standard Administrative Procedures (MIRSAP), Government Protective Marking Scheme and Force Policy & Procedures.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • The examination and revelation of all relevant unused material gathered during the criminal investigation by means of accurate, comprehensive and ethical disclosure schedules
  • Providing  detailed descriptions of relevant used and unused material, making decisions as to the sensitivity in accordance with the Disclosure Manual
  • preparing material that meets the disclosure test, editing this material appropriately if directed to disclose items to the defence
  • Liaise with the Senior Investigating Officer, the Prosecutor and Prosecuting Counsel in relation to disclosure issues

It is essential that the successful candidate have previous investigatory experience or practical experience of Major Crime Investigations with a working knowledge of MIRSAP C.P.I.A, Police IT systems & HOLMES2.
