We are looking for talented Communication Officers with experience of working in a busy communications environment to join our team.

We have three vacancies a 13-hour post and a 37-hour post on a permanent contract and a 37-hour post on a temporary contract (ending 2020). There may be some flexibility with the contracts and if it is desirable by the successful candidates, a combination of permanent and temporary hours may be considered.

The award winning team has recently undergone a review and will be operating in a new structure from September. The team of omni-competent communications officers, which you could be part of, will be responsible for internal and external engagement, media relations, and campaigns. This brings opportunities to deal with everything from communicating changes in the way we work to leading the communications for a major incident. You will need to be able to travel across South Yorkshire and take part in an out-of-hours rota.

If you believe you are ready for this challenge, we would love to hear from you and your timing could not be better. We have a clear plan as to where we need to be and how to get there and are now well on that path. The inspectors of policing have assessed our work as ‘good’ and the Communications Department has achieved national recognition with a host of industry awards.
