The Performance Assessment Officer role will be assigned to the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner. The Police and Crime Commissioner, as a directly elected official, is accountable to the public of South Yorkshire for the delivery of efficient and effective policing and crime services. He has a duty to involve and engage the public, and wider stakeholders so that their views can be considered and fed into the design and delivery of services that support a safer South Yorkshire.

The Performance Assessment Officer role has been created to work closely with the force, partners, key stakeholders and other service providers. Your focus will be to provide independent and impartial advice that supports the Police and Crime Commissioner in his oversight and scrutiny of service providers in their delivery of his Police and Crime Plan priorities.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a collaborative style of working that supports the delivery of excellent services for the public. You must be a good communicator, have an inquiring and analytical mind and be able to provide evidence based challenge to help bring about improvements in service delivery.

You will be expected to work closely with members of the Senior Management Groups in SYP / OPCC and on occasion with partners, to design, configure, deliver, evaluate and review, a programme of qualitative and quantitative performance assessments and data provision.

Applicants must meet the minimum checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for all individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history period of 3 Years has been identified for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
