Role Purpose:

Assist in identifying issues and areas for improvement within the Force via Inspection and Review processes.  Support Strategic Delivery Unit in assessment delivery at local and force level. Deliver monitoring trackers in support of the planning processes. Act as liaison role for HMICFRS and other external monitoring bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in identifying issues and areas for improvement within the Force via Inspection and Review processes.
  • Carry out assessment at local and force level using relevant tools and techniques. 
  • Undertake planning processes linked to the Performance Management Framework delivery and action plans linked to internal and external requirements
  • Support the corporate and local planning process including:
  • Managing the tracking of action plans for internal delivery
  • Acting as key point of contact for HMICFRS and other external monitoring bodies
  • Provide support to all business areas and thematic leads in the understanding and review of HMICFRS requirements and action plans
  • Represent SYP within external inspection planning meetings and liaise with other forces for benchmarking and inspection business areas.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed briefings for presentation to Senior Command Team and business leads as required
  • Support ongoing improvements to the force planning process aligned to the force’s strategic direction.
  • Facilitate the support to HMICFRS and other external inspections within force in liaison and delivery of planning and administrative support.
  • Any other tasks commensurate with the role.

Skills and experience:

  • Experience of being involved in planning activities/processes
  • Experience of presenting, advising and influencing at all levels
  • Possess Certificate Level qualification in a Business related subject
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • Have the ability to travel within and outside the Force area

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years has been identified for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
