South Yorkshire Police are looking for a talented Communications Officer with experience of working in a busy communications environment to join our team.

The shiny new team is eager to go and we are looking for just one more person to add to our team of communications officers. Each of the communications officers is responsible for internal and external engagement, media relations, and campaigns. This brings opportunities to deal with everything from communicating changes in the way we work to leading the communications for a major incident.

You will need to be able to travel across South Yorkshire and take part in an out-of-hours rota, which will be one weekend in eight.

If you believe you are ready for this challenge, we would love to hear from you and your timing could not be better. We have a clear plan as to where we need to be and how to get there and are now well on that path. The inspectors of policing have assessed our work as ‘good’ and the Communications Department has achieved national recognition with a host of industry awards.

For more information regarding the role responsibilities, please see the CVF Role Profile.

This should be sent on a GEN2 / email that to Recruiting@southyorks.pnn.police.uk. Please ensure that in the subject of the email contains the Job title and closing date of the role. Without support, your application will not be considered any further.

Applicants must meet the minimum checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for all individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history period of 3 Years has been identified for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
