Role: Apprentice Administration Assistant – SOC (V)

Location: Snig Hill, Sheffield

Salary: Apprentice - £11, 385 - £16, 479

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract Type:  Apprenticeship                

 

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to be part of a new and developing team investigating criminality into the crime where the victims are classed as vulnerable.  The role will include administrative support to the team, attending and taking minutes for briefings on sensitive cases.

Role Purpose:

  • To provide clerical support to the SOC-V team in relation to ongoing investigations
  • Utilising specific Police based computer systems and basic Microsoft package
  • Supporting the administration of crime correspondence, files and records including computer based systems.
  • Deal with general telephone calls including from members of the public
  • Photocopying and scanning of documentation
  • Filing of case paperwork
  • Participate in briefings and take notes as directed by management team
  • Maintain duty boards and display boards as appropriate
  • Basic typing requirements
  • Any other duties commensurate with the grade
  • The successful candidate will undertake a ‘Level 3 Business Administrator’ apprenticeship
  • 18 month FTC with a view to a permeant position on successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 3 years has been identified for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.

Closing dates are not normally extended, other than in exceptional circumstances and agreement is made with the HR Manager, Recruitment and the Line Manager for the role.
