Role Purpose:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced IT professional to lead the Solutions Delivery function for the joint IT service between South Yorkshire Police and Humberside Police.

Key Responsibilities:

As a key member of the IT Management team, you will be responsible not only for the delivery of multiple major software systems including Criminal Justice, Command & Control, ERP and Digital Innovation but also driving the way forward with data management and BI Reporting.

Both Forces are on an upward trajectory and committed to maximising their investment in technology using use of the data they collect with Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, and Robotics to provide better intelligence and efficiency to front line Policing.

Managing the Digital Development, System Admin, Application Support and Data Services teams, you will be keenly focussed on driving forward improvements and developments whilst delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring the availability of critical systems.

Skills and experience:

The successful applicant will be educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification or relevant applied experience), whilst having demonstrable experience of managing technical teams specialising in database management and administration (specifically Oracle and Microsoft SQL) including data warehousing and reporting tools (Oracle BI, Microsoft Power BI).

The post holder will have strong understanding of IT systems lifecycle including requirements capture, specification, evaluation, implementation, data migration and data interface methodologies.

Experience in solutions design and problem solving using COTS products such as Microsoft Office 365 and cloud-based systems are a requirement of the role.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years has been identified for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
