We currently have a range of exciting opportunities to work as an Assistant with South Yorkshire Police. You will join either the Moves & Transfers Team or the Duties Updates Team with the expectation for cross team working when required.   

These roles are vital for the force to ensure that the Human Resource and Duties Management systems are updated in an accurate and timely manner, for all Police Officers and Police Staff across the Force.  This means that, Organisationally, we know where our people are, and we are able to plan and operate effectively.  It also means that our people have access to the right information and systems needed for their individual circumstances. 

Role Purpose:

Be responsible for the accuracy, consistency and quality of the workforce data held on the HR system and challenge any deviation from it. Moving officer and staff across the force in a timely and efficient way, ensuring moves are in line with financial responsibilities and established procedure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing joiners, re-joiners, leavers, role changes, position changes, establishment changes and shift pattern changes
  • Working with HR and Duties Systems, Microsoft packages including Teams and Excel
  • Attention to detail and accuracy of all updates is of critical importance
  • The ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritise
  • Support IS with testing of the system for upgrades
  • Follow clear and defined processes to update systems and work effectively as a team player in a busy team with a diverse range of customers

Skills and experience:

  • Experience of working with data systems such as Oracle HR (or similar) and Duty Planning systems. Working knowledge of Microsoft packages to include Excel
  • Ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, building relationships that are based on trust, working collaboratively and to improve the customer experience and align to the organisations values
  • Able to work accurately under pressure
  • Experience in a busy and time sensitive environment working closely as a team towards one shared goal.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 3 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
