Role: Service Delivery Engineer (Desktop)

Hours: 37 hours per week                        

Contract Type: Temporary 2 years

Role Purpose:

The post holder will work as part of a team to analyse, plan and manage the implementation of Information Technology aspects across South Yorkshire and Humberside Police in line with IS strategies and business requirements.

As a Desktop Engineer, you will provide second line support to South Yorkshire and Humberside user communities ensuring all SLA’s (Service Level Agreements) are adhered to whilst maintaining a customer focused approach to IT Service Management problems, issues and requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and implement new hardware and software in line with the Desktop Strategy.
  • Liaise with IS technical staff and projects and provide advice and assistance.
  • Provide second line support to South Yorkshire and Humberside user communities ensuring all SLA’s are adhered to whilst maintaining a customer focused approach to IT Service Management problems, issues and requests.

Skills and experience:

  • Knowledge and experience of enterprise IT systems.
  • Proven previous experience of working in an IT Support environment.
  • Hold a current UK Driving Licence.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
