Salary: £36,369- £40,662

Hours: 37 hours per week

Role Purpose:

The post holder will be required to lead a team of technical specialists across both Humberside and South Yorkshire Police. The role will be responsible for the delivery of Desktop and Airwave technologies to both organisations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing the management and leadership of the Desktop Team. The post holder will ensure that the team are skilled to operate in line with ITIL Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.
  • Deliver on key projects in order to support business objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance to the IT SLT on new client-based technologies.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service standards.
  • Co-ordinate the integration and installation of associated hardware / software across both forces.
  • Continually evaluate and adapt service delivery standards to meet the changing requirements of both forces.
  • Provide specialist and professional services for the maintenance, development and provision of the Airwave Technologies of both forces.
  • Contribute to the overall decision-making process by providing recommendations to the IT SLT in respect of Technology, People and Process.

    Skills and experience:

    • Ability to provide leadership to a team of technical resources along with supporting the IT Senior Leadership Team.
    • Strong interpersonal skills are necessary, as the post holder will be expected to liaise with internal and external colleagues in a non-technical manner.
    • Experience of conducting staff Performance Reviews and the creation of Development Plans for team members.

    Eligibility:

    Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 3 years / 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
