We are recruiting for an IS Engineer (Database) to work with our Senior Engineers, assisting them in the administration and implementation of the ORACLE and SQL Service Database Estate.

As an IS Engineer (Database) you will help create and deploy force business intelligence reporting and data warehouse implementation and provide database technical support for all force applications.

To be considered for the role you must have knowledge and experience of SQL, PLSQL or TSQL.

Ideally, you will have knowledge and experience of application services and implementations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Senior Engineer (Database) in the administration and implementation of the ORACLE and SQL Server Database estate.
  • Assist with the creation and deployment of Force Business Intelligence reporting and data warehouse implementation
  • Assist with ERP technical support
  • Monitor all related systems and applications for the provision of pro-active support, performance and the provision of KPI’s with respect to availability
  • Perform assessments and audits on equipment and systems, documenting system configurations and procedures, making recommendations where appropriate

Skills and experience:

  • Knowledge and experience of enterprise ORACLE and SQL Server database management best practices
  • SQL, PLSQL or TSQL knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Database modelling, migration, reporting and data warehouse techniques
  • Knowledge and understanding of Business Intelligence and data warehouse management methods

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years / 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
