Role: Chronicle Support Assistant

Department: Operational Support Unit

Location: Main Street, Rotherham

Salary: £19,452 - £21,135

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent 

Role Purpose:

As a Chronicle Support Assistant, you will assist the Chronicle System manager in providing overall maintenance of the Chronicle System. You will ensure the accurate and effective recording of training data on Chronicle and act as a focal point for data entry and assistance with the audit of compliance with training curriculums.   As part of your role, you will support training staff in their capability to deliver training data onto the Chronicle system, providing data extracts to influence strategic and tactical decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing awareness of the Chronicle system across the Force under the direction of the Chronicle Manager
  • Create new user profiles and have the capability to assign role profiles, teams and attributes.
  • Timely and accurate recording of training data on Chronicle
  • Act as a focal point for data entry on Chronicle
  • Assist with the audit of compliance with training curriculums
  • Liaise with Yorkshire and the Humber (YATH) colleagues to maintain best practice

Skills and experience:

  • Experience of using computer Database Systems
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office packages (Word & Excel)
  • Experience of creating and maintaining spreadsheets
  • Must on occasions be prepared to travel across the Force

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years / 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
