We are recruiting for a Head of Safety Cameras and Ticket Processing.  This role sits within our Safety Cameras Unit supporting our South Yorkshire Police Operational Support Department.

As Head of Safety Cameras and Ticket Processing you will be responsible for the day to day running of Safety Cameras and Ticket Processing (SCTP) on behalf of South Yorkshire Police and South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership (SYSRP).  You will provide SYSRP, at a strategic level, with comprehensive planning, financial and performance management information.

Duties include, developing business practices and procedures to provide a comprehensive revenue-based partnership operation.  You will manage partnership arrangements within the South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership (SYSRP) and deliver the outcomes determined by the SYSRP Board to improve road safety.  You will be responsible for identifying and quantifying resources and staff required to deliver road safety objectives in the most cost-effective manner.

The right candidate must hold or be willing to study for (within agreed timeframe) a level 7 management qualification, together with previous relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities are:

  • Responsible for setting, managing and monitoring a substantial budget in accordance with Financial Regulations.
  • Promote the work of the unit and develop a communications strategy to inform the public on key outcomes.
  • Responsible for delivering projects within the Safety Camera and Ticketing Processing Team (SCTP).
  • Co-ordinate, direct and monitor activities in order to achieve the aims of South Yorkshire Police and the wider SYSRP to maximise road casualty reduction.
  • Provide performance information to local Neighbourhood Teams.
  • Overall responsibility for the management of staff working within SCTP (circa 44 staff) and delegating work appropriately. 

Skills and experience required:

  • Experience of Analysing a wide range of data and drawing conclusions.
  • Management experience, including a proven record of accomplishment to deliver outcomes.
  • Must hold or be willing to study for (within agreed timeframe) a level 7 management qualification, together with previous relevant experience.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office Applications.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 3 years / 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
