Role: Quality Assurance Officer

Department: Force Control Room

Location: Shepcote Lane, Sheffield (The department will be based at Shepcote Lane, having been relocated from Atlas Court. Discussions are ongoing as the to future location, which is extremely likely to be within the Sheffield area)

Salary: £19,452 – £21,135

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Role Purpose:

Work as part of the Quality Assurance team and the wider Force Crime Bureau department. To receipt, research and assess all new investigations submitted into the department. To assess and research the submissions ensuring full compliance with the Home Office Counting Rules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the receipt of all new Pronto submissions into the Force Crime Bureau.
  • Responsible for the initial research and assessment of all new investigation submissions adhering to the National Standards as outlined in the Home Office Counting Rules.
  • Liaise with staff and officers of all ranks either via Connect tasks, email and the internal QA telephone line.
  • Manage expectations of officers and deliver a quality, impartial and informative service, ensuring a high quality victim focused approach to all aspects of the role.
  • Maintain an excellent understanding of the national standards as outlined in the Home Office Counting Rules as well as local policy and procedure.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate crime and non-crime investigations within Connect
  • Research relevant police systems including but not limited to Connect, CMS, Pronto and Storm as required.
  • Responsible for maintaining a good understanding of policing and policing systems.

Skills and experience:

  • Proven experience of maintaining accurate data records
  • Experience of managing workloads to meet deadlines
  • Possess aptitude of IT (such as Microsoft packages e.g. Word, Excel)
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 3 years / 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
