Salary: £23,331 - £25,809 (pro-rata)

Hours: 18.5 hour per week

Contract Type: Permanent and Temporary until 31 March 2023

We are looking to recruit two Contract Administrators within our Facilities Management Department, there is one permanent vacancy available and one temporary vacancy until 31 March 2023.

Role Purpose:

The provision of clerical support and management information to the Contract Management Unit within the Facilities Management Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To maintain database information on Vehicle Recovery, Boarding Up and Dangerous Dogs.
  • To monitor and action day to day issues in relation to Vehicle Recovery, Boarding Up and Dangerous Dogs including:
  • Retention and disposal of vehicle
  • Obtain information on property owners and various sources
  • Kennel repatriation of gods (dangerous and/or welfare)
  • Raising purchase orders
  • Payments and costs in relation to all of the above contracts
  • Assist the Contracts Manager with the management of Vehicle Recovery, Boarding Up and Dangerous Dog contract.
  • Clerical support to the Facilities Management Department
  • General correspondence with outside organisations, and member of South Yorkshire Police
  • Maintenance of filling systems, including completion of old files and destruction of out of date files.
  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail regarding the above contracts to the Department
  • Supply of general information to end users and the organisation
  • Any other duties appropriate to the post of admin assistant as may be required by the department
  • In carrying out your duties, you will be operating within South Yorkshire police Guiding Principles and Equal Opportunities. 

Skills and experience:

  • Experience of dealing with face to face enquiries from members of the public.
  • Experience of using computer packages including Word and Excel.
  • Previous Clerical experience.
  • Experience of using web-based information systems.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 3 years / 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
