Salary:                 £21,432 - £23,100 (plus shift and weekend working allowances)

Hours:                  37 Hours per week

Contract Type:   Temporary (until 31 March 2025)

 

Role Purpose:

To update PNC with information passed on by officers, police staff and external Agencies.

To respond to calls from officers, police staff and other departments and relay relevant information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To create, update and amend information held on the Police National Computer (PNC), from a wide source of data and information.
  • Use other relevant South Yorkshire Police intelligence and recording systems as and when appropriate to extract relevant information required for Data Integrity.
  • Deal with telephone enquiries both internal and external, including police officers and other criminal justice departments.
  • Validate data input by other PNC operators.
  • General associated administrative tasks.
  • To work a 24/7 shift pattern including early mornings, afternoon and night shifts plus weekends and Bank Holidays (please see the attached shift pattern).

Skills and experience:

  • Communication skills – adapt language to meet the needs of different people/audiences.
  • Able to utilise IT packages, systems and/or databases.
  • Able to appropriately prioritise and plan own work.
  • Experience of information gathering and problem solving.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
