We are looking to recruit a Service Delivery Analyst (Application Support) who will provide support to our force control staff and manage incidents, problems, application patching, monitoring and future upgrades.

As a Service Delivery Analyst (Application Support) you will work as part of a project team to help implement new solutions, enabling future integrations between systems and technologies.  As part of an ongoing project, you may be required to attend meetings with suppliers and the business to provide updates.

Having the ability to manage workloads effectively and work in a high-pressured environment is essential for this role.  You will need a good understanding of IT service management principles, including problem, change and release management and you must be a confident and effective communicator.

There is a requirement of the role to work a 24/7 on call rota and there may be a requirement to travel around and outside of the force area when operational demand requires it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a specialist and professional service for the support and maintenance of force applications and systems.
  • Provide on-site coverage in the force control room to assist with any issues that may arise during the day and to ensure that any incidents or problems are logged, assigned where necessary and manged throughout their lifecycle.
  • Ensure the pro-active monitoring of all applications is undertaken and if necessary remedial action instigated.
  • Provide technical knowledge in specific applications support activities, ensure ongoing communication with users regarding application performance and the evolving needs of the business.
  • Assist the Senior Analyst and Team Leader by ensuring appropriate third line support and incident resolution is maintained.

Skills and experience:

  • Previous experience of working in an IT department
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and work in a high-pressured environment
  • Manage application upgrades with supplier support and intervention
  • A good understanding of IT service management principles, including problem, change and release management.
  • A confident and effective communicator

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
