Atlas Court have an exciting Force Control Room Manager opportunity, with responsibility to lead and develop their own team in a challenging yet rewarding communications centre environment.  The successful candidates, reporting to the Contact Resolution Centre Manager, will have indirect line management of both CRU (Call Handling) and Dispatch functions and will be expected to deliver results in a performance driven role.  

The successful candidate will provide support to their Team Leaders in the day-to-day running of the Force Control Room, overseeing and managing performance issues and providing operational leadership in order to meet the operational goals and strategic objectives of SYP victim-care strategy.  They will be organised and be able to switch priorities quickly, according to daily demand. They will be expected to innovate, coming up with new solutions to support both Group and Departmental improvements, and come up with fresh solutions to changing priorities. They will support their staff members in welfare issues and provide advice and guidance on how to proceed in relation to both operational and people matters. 

The successful applicant will also support members of the Senior Command Team in achieving wider Atlas objectives.

Skills and experience:

  • Previous Management experience, including a knowledge of Recruitment and Selection, PDR’s and Performance reviews, Welfare and Discipline procedures.
  • Certificate in Supervisory Management or other relevant qualification.
  • Proven experience in developing individuals and teams.
  • Ability to drive group and departmental performance to support the achievement of departmental key performance indicators.
  • Proven experience of supporting and managing staff wellbeing.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 3 years or 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
