Role: Mobile Enforcement Officer

Department: OSU – Safety Camera & Central Ticketing

Location:  Maltby

Salary: Band C (£22,599 - £25,278) + 14% Shift allowance

Hours: 37hrs per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Role Purpose:

To undertake roadside speed enforcement utilising vehicle based mobile enforcement equipment, and fixed site equipment, in accordance with manufacturers, Home Office Type Approval and SCTP requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To undertake roadside safety camera enforcement utilising vehicle based mobile enforcement equipment, and fixed site equipment, in accordance with manufacturers, Home Office Type Approval and SCTP requirements.
  • To operate roadside traffic data collection equipment, retrieve data and present it in an appropriate format.
  • To view recorded offences and compile computer records to enable appropriate action to be taken.
  • To obtain registered keeper details and prepare Notices of Intended Prosecution.
  • To liaise with service engineers when problem arise with safety camera equipment
  • To maintain accurate records of work activity for evidential purposes
  • To provide minor maintenance and problem-solving service for all equipment used.
  • To attend court to give supporting evidence when required.
  • To prepare witness statements with appropriate supporting evidence.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post

    Skills and experience:
  • Full Clean, Manual Driving Licence with the ability to pass a Police Basic Driving Assessment.
  • PC Literate with experience in Windows based applications
  • Resilience / ability to work under pressure
  • Be comfortable working alone for periods of time

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 3 years / 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
