Role Purpose:

As a Generic Team Leader, you will provide first line supervision to all administration, clerical, typing, janitorial and driver staff at District.    You will be responsible for rostering staff across a variety of functions: these may include CCTV, Enquiry Desk, Crime Support, Accident Clerks, Secretarial, Administrative, Finance, Scene Visitors and Road Traffic Collision specialists.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Health and Safety in the allocated areas including Risk Assessment
  • Recruitment and Selection
  • Produce Management Information to suit local demands
  • Project work commensurate with the grade
  • Produce Management Information to suit local demands

Skills and experience:

  • Ability to demonstrate experience of clerical duties in an office environment
  • Experience of using Microsoft applications e.g. MS Word, Excel etc.
  • Ability to supervise a team

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 3 years / 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
