Role: MARAC/MATAC Team Supervisor

Department: Performance & Governance

Location:  Maltby Police Station, Rotherham

Salary: Band D (£26,016 - £29,793)

Hours: 37 per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Role Purpose:

To lead the MARAC/MATAC Research Coordinator Team, including managing their workload and welfare and supervising their performance. To prepare and present DA cases at MARAC and MATAC and ensure police actions are allocated and updated back into the process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervising the MARAC/MATAC Team, managing their workload and maintaining their effective performance
  • Responsible for undertaking the management and monitoring of MARAC/MATAC Team welfare and development, including training, sickness absence and PDR
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate duty management to meet responsibilities to deal with MARAC/MATAC research, presentation and police actions
  • Present police cases at MARAC and MATAC, advocating timely recording of crimes and action completion, through SYP computer systems to research and maintain records
  • Maintain relevant case management systems and databases to include all appropriate actions and decisions
  • Promote themes and trends indicating risk across families and communities and share with Partner agencies to improve safety through effective maintenance of data sets
  • Promote opportunities for continuous professional development through the DA Champions
  • Promote tactical measures to improve victim safety and reduce perpetrator behaviour
  • Advise and support operational officers on MARAC/MATAC processes by maintaining up to date knowledge on legislation, delivering training and maintaining CPD within this role.  Ensure good practice and lessons learned are disseminated across the force and with DA Partners
  • Any other duties required at Band D level

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 3 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
