South Yorkshire Police have four vacancies for Digital Media Investigators.

 

You must have an awareness of digital forensic principles, tools and techniques in order to maximise opportunities in investigation.  This should be supported by a willingness to develop and keep abreast of growing digital technologies and therefore investigative opportunities.

 

You will be required to provide guidance surrounding digital investigations and develop clear, concise, practical investigative strategies and able to support colleagues in investigations.  Such strategies need to be supported by your ability to present, influence and communicate information clearly and with supporting rationale.

 

You will be, required to attend crime scenes to identify digital forensic opportunities, in support of investigations.  You will need to be able to identify outline digital investigatory requirements and in some cases carry out the investigatory work.

 

Development of working relationships across districts and departments is essential to provide support and guidance surrounding digital investigations. This includes working alongside specialist staff from within the Digital Forensic Unit and Cyber Unit, to maximise evidential recovery.

 

Developing a strong partnership approach in order to increase support and awareness will be required, as will incorporating general crime prevention advice.

 

Identifying and sharing best practice amongst colleagues, partners, and the public is vital, as is the delivery of such messages through effective communication strategies.

 

You will need to be able to manage your own investigations as well as supporting others.  An ability to manage and prioritise your own work load with the minimum of supervision is necessary. 

 

You must be prepared to undertake the South Yorkshire Police Investigative Development Programme

 

You are expected to be able to work and travel through-out the South Yorkshire area,
