Details of Role:

Due to a significant investment in our Intelligence function, we are inviting applications from methodical, customer-focussed individuals to join our expanding team.

Intelligence Analysts make a direct contribution in the reduction of and detection of crime through researching, analysing and presenting data from a diverse range of sources to enable informed decision-making.

You will be able to utilise IT to analyse, interpret and present data. You will have the ability to communicate confidently to a range of stakeholders, and prepare and present reports from complex information to support informed decision-making.

If successful, you must be available to attend 8-week training programme; dates to be confirmed - but expected to be in the final quarter of 2020 and/or first quarter of 2021.

Skills and experience:

  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent demonstrable analytical experience.
  • College of Policing Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) qualification, or willingness to complete.
  • Skilled in the use of IT packages, systems and/or databases involved in analysing interpreting, storing and presenting data.
  • Experience in intelligence/information collection and analysis.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prepare and present reports from complex data to a range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate confidently at all levels, including an ability to negotiate and influence.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years / 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
