An exciting opportunity has arisen to join South Yorkshire Police’s performance management team as a Survey Officer. As part of this dynamic team you will be central to the organisation’s efforts to achieve its strategic objectives and continuously improve the service we give to the public.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and highly organised individual to assist in the management of the survey function using a variety of consultation methods and techniques to successfully engage with and gather the views of victims of crime, the wider public and our staff members.

Role Purpose:

The role holder will consult with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, design and manage effective survey products, conduct research and detailed statistical analysis to identify trends and patterns, and produce a variety of reports to summarise key findings and make evidenced recommendations.

The role holder will need to be aware of data protection principles, be responsible for the production of statutory data returns and will contribute to the continuous development of the team’s skills, knowledge and techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and management of force surveys, research and data analysis, production and presentation of performance reports, completion of statutory data returns, process evaluation.

Skills and experience. This includes:

  • Experience of survey design and methodologies
  • Experience in the analysis, interpretation and reporting of qualitative and quantitative data
  • Understanding of statistical techniques used to interpret survey based data
  • Experience of drawing inferences, conclusions and / or recommendations based on research and the analysis of data/information
  • Previous experience of SPSS or equivalent statistical analysis software
  • Degree with a statistical content or relevant analytical experience.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years / 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
