Role Purpose:

The successful candidate will work as part of the IS Smart Contact Project office team to plan, coordinate and support the implementation of changes relating to the IS Programme of work in line with strategies and business requirements, and perform other project related tasks and duties as required.

The individual will also be required to undertake business administrative, procurement and finance administrative tasks in support of the identified work-stream as required, such as arranging and participating in meetings, preparing minutes, updating and publishing documentation. A main function of the role will be to manage the IS Smart Contact Programme calendar and ensure specific dates and project milestones are recorded and achieved. Ensuring key deliverable dates are published within the IS Function and their completion success monitored and reported on to key stakeholders.

The successful applicant will be responsible for creating, accepting and progressing project work packages and working closely to ensure delivery of products and process change, provide support to the IS Project Management function. They will also directly support and deputise where appropriate for various IS Project leads and create and progress work packages for various Programmes of work.

Key Responsibilities

These include the following:

Actively assist in the day to day delivery of planning and monitoring in all aspects of the IS work programme to ensure progress is in accordance with the delivery of desired outcomes.

Undertake IS business administrative and carried out tasks in support of the identified IS work-stream as required, such as arranging and participating in meetings, preparing minutes, updating and publishing documentation.

Work as part of the designated IS team, assisting IS colleagues within and across teams and from external agencies/partners and suppliers.

Skills and experience:

  • Must hold ITIL foundation course accreditation.
  • Knowledge and experience of project planning and methodologies - Prince II.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years / 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
