Role: File Preparation Unit Supervisor

Department: Criminal Justice Department (CJU)

Location: Snig Hill, Sheffield

Salary: Band D (£26,016 - £29,793) + Shift Allowance

Hours: 37 per week

Contract Type: There is currently one permanent position available, and the potential for two 12 Month Secondment opportunities in this role. Further details will be provided during the process.

Role Purpose:

Responsibility for the efficient management of file preparation within CJU structure.  Please note the requirement for shift and weekend working as part of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support the CJU Process Manager in the efficient day-to-day running of the File Preparation functions of the Unit.
  • Oversee the quality and timeliness of files within the section.
  • Maintain relevant statistical and management information.
  • To train staff and identify training needs.
  • To liaise with internal/external agencies.
  • Interrogate/Input/Retrieve various computer packages.
  • Ensure cover is provided for staff within the section as and when required.
  • Undertake appraisals (PDRs) & manage and address staff performance.
  • Undertake Health and Safety risk assessments and manage staff welfare.
  • Recruitment and Selection of staff.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
