Contract Type: Temporary – 3 months from date of appointment

N.B. The requirements include weekend working on a rota basis, and also flexibility to work overtime or at Sheffield and Doncaster, Saturdays and Bank Holiday on a rota basis to meet organisational needs.

Role Purpose:

Interrogate, maintain and retrieve data/information using various computer and manual recording packages, accurately contributing to monitoring activities for own and multi-agency partnership purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interrogate, maintain and retrieve data/information using various computer and manual recording packages, accurately contributing to monitoring activities for own and multi-agency partnership purposes.
  • Process Digital Files (Remand files, Charge and Bail files, Postal Requisition files and Youth summons files) to Court and CPS.
  • Review and check quality of Files, completing remedial work as necessary for first Court Hearing.
  • Copying and Editing CCTV for Court Hearings.
  • Finalisation of files.
  • Preparation of letters to victims/witnesses of Crime.
  • Receive, Process and Review Appeal/Warrant/Committal for Sentence Files.
  • Retrieval of Crown Court Files on a weekly basis.

Skills and experience required includes:

  • Experience of using Microsoft Word packages.
  • Experience of copy typing/word processing.
  • Communication by a variety of means, including telephone and keyboard skills.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years / 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
