South Yorkshire Police is seeking community assessors to join us in a paid, part-time role. Everyone who applies to be an officer at South Yorkshire Police must undergo a rigorous assessment, which includes a new online assessment centre. As part of our expert team, you will provide the specialist input we need to ensure we select the very best people. The role involves working with the wider team including police officers and police staff to make fair and objective assessments of candidates looking to join South Yorkshire Police.

You will be joining a newly formed team of Assessors to support the in the delivery of the new Police Officer online assessment centre. As an Assessor you will be required to work remotely, giving flexibility of start and finish times when assessments are running.

While assessment days are demanding it will be a rewarding and thought-provoking experience.

Previous experience of assessing is great but if you haven’t done this before we will provide you with all the training you need to carry out this role.

To join our delivery team as an Assessor, you will need strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work as part of a team, have a flexible approach to work and the ability to monitor own performance and self-development. We are looking for individuals who are fair, objective and have sound judgement skills. As we are looking for assessors from the local community we ask that applicants be based within the South Yorkshire area. 

Please note, as this is a home-based role, you will be required to have access to your own personal laptop or computer.

This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in the recruitment of new police constables who will be serving South Yorkshire.
