This means that as Detective Superintendent, you must provide strong leadership in a time of unprecedented change.

Being an integral part of the force, you will be responsible for driving through change to transform service delivery and role model our high standards. You will achieve this by upholding our professional values, overseeing the management of large teams and delivering projects, both locally, and across South Yorkshire.

 

As a leader, often with independent command, you will face a number of challenges including the drive for dramatic crime reduction, ensuring that our policing style meets community expectations, and maintaining effective policing against a changing economic climate.

 

The successful candidate may also be eligible to receive removal expenses in accordance with Police Regulations 2003, Regulation 35 (Annex V) Part 2. The current maximum is £8,000 to reflect the current tax threshold.

  • A familiarisation day will take place 21st June 2018
  • Closing date for applications is 27th June 2018
  • Short listing will take place 2nd July 2018
  • The interview process will take place on 26th and 27th July 2018

Requirements

  • Applications are welcomed from substantive Detective Superintendents who wish to transfer to South Yorkshire Police or from exceptional Detective Chief Inspectors who are seeking promotion to this rank
  • Applicants ideally  be PIP Level 3 accredited with experience in both Protecting Vulnerable People/ Public Protection and Serious and Organised Crime
  • Candidates will need to achieve the necessary vetting and medical clearances as required
  • South Yorkshire Police particularly welcome interest from aspiring officers from a range of diverse backgrounds, as we recognise and harness the value of differing life experiences
