Role Purpose:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced IT professional to lead the Programmes and Projects function for the joint IT service between South Yorkshire Police and Humberside Police.

Key Responsibilities:

As a key member of the IT Management team, you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of all IT programmes whether major systems across multiple Forces or internal developments and upgrades.

Both Forces are on an upward trajectory and committed to maximising their investment in technology and the Programmes and Projects function is vital to ensuring both Force and Departmental objectives are delivered – to specification, on time and on budget.

Skills and experience:

You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification or relevant applied experience) whilst being ITIL qualified to at least V3 Foundation Level or relevant Project Management Qualification (e.g. Prince 2, APM, PMI)

As an experienced and ambitious project or programme manager, you will have strong track record of managing multiple complex IT projects with multiple project managers. You will be able to demonstrate how you have developed business cases, captured business benefits, successfully bid for funding and kept everyone focussed on delivering everything right first time.

You will understand the importance of clear customer communication, be adept at dealing with suppliers and external agencies, have the drive to improve our work reception process and lead our Technical Architects in building a new technical design process.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years has been identified for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
