Hours: 29.5hrs per week (4 days per week - Monday &Tuesday, Thursday & Friday)

Details about the role:

An exciting new role has come available within South Yorkshire Police to provide a supervisory role to all administration, clerical, typing, janitorial and driver staff at District. As a Generic Team leader, you will have first line supervisor responsibilities for support staff who provide service at Police Station enquiry desks.

What the role will be responsible for

  • First level supervision / rostering of allocated staff across a variety of functions: these may include CCTV, Enquiry Desk, Crime Support, Accident Clerks, Secretarial, Administrative, Finance, Scene Visitors and RTC specialists. (Supervision includes the task prioritisation, working arrangements, performance management, welfare, discipline, and development of the allocated staff.)
  • Responsible for the GRS and PDR records of the staff.
  • Could be responsible for specialist elements of the similar roles e.g., CICA, insurance liaison and operating associated software e.g., PNC, Procad, CMSII, Lynx etc.
  • Deputise for the ASO, BSO or provide temporary cover for colleagues in equivalent Band C Generic Team Leader roles.
  • Recruitment and Selection.
  • Health and Safety in the allocated areas including Risk Assessment.
  • Project work commensurate with the grade.
  • Produce Management Information to suit local demands.
  • Manage Portal, Atrium, security databases as required.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
