Thank you for expressing an interest in joining the Office of the South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner.


In the role of Commissioning and Contracts Officer you will be involved in providing information, advice and recommendations on emerging service requirements, identifying funding opportunities and developing collaborative approaches with geographic and/or thematic partners in order to deliver the best services to the people of South Yorkshire. 

The focus of this role is to support the Senior Contracts and Commissioning Officers to develop and deliver commissioning / grant processes to help the Police and Crime Commissioner deliver the Police and Crime Plan priorities.

You will work closely with members of the OPCC’s Senior Management team, the Force, other partners and grant recipients to identify service needs, design grant/service specifications and then manage and monitor commissioned services or grant funded initiatives to deliver quality, value for money services to the people of South Yorkshire.

To be successful you will need to demonstrate a collaborative style of working that supports the delivery of excellent services for the public. You must educated to degree level (or equivalent educational / work experience), have experience of effectively managing contractor / supplier performance and have excellent  communication skills.

Closing dates are not normally extended, other than in exceptional circumstances and agreement is made with the HR Manager, Recruitment and the Line Manager for the role.
