Humberside Police are looking to hire a Subject Rights Manager. This role is critical part of the Subjects Rights team, who support the Force with all matters around data protection and GDPR. As the manager of the team, you will have overall responsibility for decision making, identifying and actioning any gaps in practice and promoting best practice.  


Role Details:

  • Oversees the annual audit programme.
  • Identifies any gaps in current practice when measured against developing requirements and liaises with internal and external bodies to identify best practice and ensure its adoption across the force.
  • Manages the transfer of information from legacy systems.
  • Lead, co-ordinate and harmonise the Force approach to Data Protection.
  • Delivers presentations to senior management on Information Management related issues.
  • Represents Humberside Police at force meetings and regional and national conferences for information management.
  • Analyses current legislation and responds to changes ensuring force compliance by developing and implementing associated policies and procedures.

What is Required?

  • Literate and Numerate.
  • Computer literate / keyboarding skills.
  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent or has practical experience to a level appropriate to the role.
  • Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of the application and principles of the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
  • Holds or is willing to obtain the Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO) qualification within a year of commencement within the role.
  • Proven experience within a Data Protection environment, releasing information in accordance with the respective legislation.
  • Ability to collate, analyse and evaluate large volumes of information.
  • Experience of working in a confidential environment.
  • Experience of implementing organisational change.
  • Experience of operating computers to input, amend, retrieve and audit information.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to be able to communicate at all levels within the force and outside agencies.

Further Information:

  • Internal applicants MUST have completed a successful 6 month probationary period and tenure (if applicable) before applying for another role within the force.
