Role: HP – Property Officer
Department: Enabling Services – Finance and Business
Location: Grimsby (Covering other locations in the Humberside area, as and when required)
Salary: £17,262 - £19,704
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Temporary Contract for approx. 15 months to cover Maternity Leave
We are currently recruiting for a Property Officer to work within our busy Property Store, based in Grimsby. This is a unique opportunity to work within the heart of Local Policing, assisting police officers and members of the public on a daily basis.
As a Property Officer, you will ensure the accurate recording, safekeeping, production and retention of property (Evidential and Found) whilst in Police custody. To maintain and supervise property records on the property management system, ensuring compliance with force policy and procedures, and eventually ensuring correct disposal as per force policy and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, record, and correctly store, and ultimately supervise, the disposal of Found and Evidential (other than found) property, such as data holding devices, (computers, phones etc), confidential documents, domestic and electrical goods, drugs, firearms, cash etc. as per force property policy and procedures.
Ensures the security, integrity and safe handling of drugs whilst in storage ensuring compliance with current Waste Regulations, policy and procedures for their disposal
Skills and experience:
- Effective communication skills and ability to communicate with a wide variety of individuals
- Experience of working in a customer orientated field
- Ability to work with minimum supervision when required
- Carries out tasks in an accurate and methodical manner with an eye for detail
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to travel to cover other property sites, so a clean driving licence is required

A minimum checkable history of 3 years has been identified for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment.
