Salary: £18,120 pro rata

Hours:  30 hours per week

We are recruiting for a Driver/ Handyperson to work within our busy Joint Estates Team, based in Grimsby. 

Role Purpose:

As a Driver/ Handyperson you will perform general driving duties and undertake a broad range of maintenance and handyperson duties.  Providing general support to the Business Centres.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Undertakes general fault diagnosis, repair, maintenance and improvement work 
  • Act as a point of contact for external contractors; monitors their attendance/work, particularly in relation to service contracts.
  • Removes furniture, fixtures and fittings to facilitate office moves, change of room use and deliveries as required.
  • Performs general driving duties including transporting of police personnel, prisoners and specialist items (such as drugs and firearms for disposal).

 

Skills and experience:

 

  • Hold a full Department of Transport License.   
  • Previous experience of working in a maintenance field
  • Able to select most appropriate maintenance techniques for repairs to buildings/equipment.

-          Internal applicants MUST of completed a successful 6 month probationary period before applying for another role within the force.
