Applications are invited from qualified Detective Constables who have completed their probationary period at the closing date of this advert.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a regional alliance that is a key component in the response to serious and organised criminality in the Yorkshire and Humber Region.

You will be required to investigate criminal offences including those of a serious and complex nature ensuring best evidence is obtained to process and secure the conviction of offenders in support of ROCU priorities.

Candidates will already hold a current Level One Surveillance accreditation and advanced driving permit, have completed a CID Foundation Course or successfully completed the ICIPD or equivalent, and have previous experience in serious and organised crime investigations. You will also display initiative and a proactive approach to the investigation of crime.

We are looking for candidates with an up to date knowledge of law in relation to the investigation of serious crime, with particular reference to RIPA, ECHR, Data Protection legislation and ACPO guidance regarding the Recording and Dissemination of Intelligence Material.

You will have a detailed knowledge of and the ability to operate relevant computer systems and research open source material.

In addition, you must be prepared to work flexibly to meet the needs of the unit and willing to work anywhere in the Regional Force areas. Please note the successful candidate will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.

This will be a posting for West Yorkshire Police officers and a secondment to the Regional Forces. As this is a secondment you will require permission from your current Force in order to be eligible to apply.
