HUMBERSIDE POLICE - AUTHORISED FIREARMS OFFICERS

Humberside Police have exciting opportunities available for experienced Police Constables to join a forward thinking, modern Police Force who provide a wide range of career opportunities and career development.

Applications are being sought from Authorised Firearms Officers (AFO) who can demonstrate that they are sound decision makers, especially when under pressure, have the ability to negotiate in challenging situations and are effective at diffusing situations.

Your role will be to act as an AFO in support of spontaneous and pre-planned firearms incidents. You will provide appropriate support to commands to enable them to achieve both force and local priorities.

You will maintain operational currency and competency and adhere to Authorised Professional Practice.  The role of an AFO both locally and nationally continues to evolve in order to effectively tackle both serious and organised crime and terrorism.

AFOs will work in a Specialist Support Team that forms part of the Joint Specialist Operation Unit which is a collaboration between Humberside and South Yorkshire Police.

A role with Humberside Police is an exceptional opportunity to develop your career.

The Humberside Police areas of East Yorkshire, Hull and North/North East Lincolnshire are home to coast, countryside and city.  Unspoilt landscapes, traditional market towns are only a stone’s throw from the city of Kingston Upon Hull that will host the UK City of Culture 2017.
