We have an exciting opportunity for a IS Senior Compliance Officer to join our Information Systems Department. This role will report to the Technical Security Lead and will contribute on the implementation of new technologies and to the development of reporting and vulnerability assessments.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be expected to work flexibly across Humberside and South Yorkshire Police, as part of a collaborative IT Service.
  • Have the ability required to support the development of policy for a change and risk management function within the IT Department, and to develop and maintain an expert knowledge of IT Change Management and Risk Management.
  • Be required to co-ordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the successful execution of projects and Business as Usual (BAU) support.
  • Support the governance of technical security disciplines, including security patching and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Be actively involved in the planning, implementation, delivery and maintenance of security technologies.
  • Engage with project teams and architects to ensure security is at the heart of delivery.

Skills and experience:

  • Educated to Degree Level in an appropriate subject matter area or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience of the IT Change Management Process and of leading Change Advisory Boards. Experience of the IT Risk Management Process and the documentation of Risk.
  • Experience of the IT Risk Management Process and the documentation of Risk.
  • Experience of developing training packages.
  • An Understanding of IT Security good practice and policies.
  • Ability to travel across the Yorkshire region.
  • Ability to engage and coordinate objectives through other teams or departments.
  • Knowledge and experience of stakeholder engagement and communication.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
