Hours:  37 Per week (Full-time) May include occasional weekends 

Contract: Permanent

As a Warrants Officer, you will ensure the safe detention of wanted persons. Here at Humberside Police, we are looking for someone who will be the ultimate team player and is prepared as a ‘Civilian Enforcement Officer’ to undertake the execution of Warrants and serve Summons within the Force.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts risk assessments in relation to carrying out the execution of Warrants.
  • Receives intelligence/information from members of the public and external agencies and actively responds when necessary, ensuring relevant protocols are adhered to.
  • The arrest of all persons wanted on Fail to Appear Warrants.
  • Attending regular officer safety training, to be made aware of the use of handcuff and restraint techniques.
  • Input and extract data/information from the Warrants Management System.
  • Liaises with external agencies such as Crown Prosecution Service, Magistrates and Crown Court and the National Probation Service to achieve an effective partnership and working arrangements.

 What the role requires:

  • Experience of working with courts/CPS/Criminal Justice.
  • Experience of working with the public, including problem solving and dealing with potential conflict situations.
  • Confident and mature manner.
  • Current full driving licence and will be expected to pass a Police Driving Test.
  • Literate and Numerate and educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
  • Good oral and written communication skills to deal with internal and external matters.
  • General computer literacy.

 Pre – Employment Checks and Eligibility:

  • Internal applicants MUST have completed a successful 6 month probationary period and tenure (if applicable) before applying for another role within the force.
