Role: HP - Information Compliance Assistant

Salary: £18,486 - £19,704

Hours: 37 hours per week    

Contract Type: 6 Months Temporary Contract     


An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Information Compliance Unit for an Information Compliance Assistant.  You will provide essential support for the small but busy Information Compliance Team.  The work is varied and will give you a good insight into Data Protection and Freedom of Information and how the force operates within the legislation both internally and externally.

 

Role Purpose:

To administer and process subject access requests in compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and to fulfil the role of Researcher under the requirements of the Freedom of Information 2000.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensuring the provision of prompt and accurate replies to subject access requests.

Maintaining an up to date knowledge of legislation, information/developments in Data

Protection.

Prepares the information identified for disclosure subject to the approval of the Information Compliance Officer.

 

Skills and experience:

  • Literate and Numerate
  • Relevant administrative experience. Experience of working in a confidential environment. Experience of using computers to input, amend or retrieve information.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to be able to communicate at all levels within the force and outside agencies
  • Demonstrates the ability to use initiative and judgement in the interpretation of issues, requests etc, with an understanding of when to refer matters to supervising officers.
