Over the last few weeks and months huge transformations have taken place within Humberside Police’s Human Resources Department, not least the change of their name to People Services. This is because the most important part of our organisation is our people. They are at the heart of everything we do as an organisation and ultimately they are the reason we are able to protect our communities to make them safer and stronger.

Whilst we have previously worked in collaboration with South Yorkshire our People Services team are now dedicated to supporting those at Humberside Police and as such a new structure for our team has taken shape.

We are now in a position to open our recruitment window for a number of exciting opportunities within the three main areas of business for our people services team.


Role Purpose:

There is currently 1 part time role available, for 22 hours . As a IS Trainer, you will work as a member of the Information Services training team and the wider Learning & Development Team and be responsible for the design and delivery of various programmes required by the Force. You will be able to deliver training advice and guidance to all stakeholders and be responsible for the welfare and supervision of all students in the classroom or on site.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To research, design, develop and deliver high quality and complex training programmes on a range of current and future computer systems and their subsequent version revisions such as:-
  • NPSIS, Connect, PND, PNC, Airwave, Origin, Call Handler Software, FCR initial and step up training, HP Police Network, Smart Contact, CLIO, Holmes, Pronto, Body Worn Video, Casualty Bureau, Kiosk, Plasdata, DMI, ViSOR
  • Proactively liaise with Information Services department and programme leads to keep informed of changes to software developments and force networks as well as ongoing organisational processes
  • Maintain and update all lesson material taking into account, current learning & development methodology (such as the 70:20:10 model), The People Services Strategy, Plan on a Page, Learning & Development Strategy, organisational need, version control and archiving processes
  • Ensure continuous professional development in respect of Information Services systems, activities, processes and specialist areas of knowledge
  • Complete assessments on the abilities of individual students as required and provide relevant feedback
  • Complete training needs analysis as and when required
  • Answer and process telephone queries relating to relevant Information Services programmes and use within the force
  • Deliver presentations, talks or lectures on Information Services applications
  • Carry out appropriate administrative duties as required in respect of the above
  • Support other Learning & Development teams in identified, appropriate delivery
  • Provide face to face support to operational roles
  • Foster and maintain a safe, inclusive and effective learning environment to enable learners engagement and participation

 

Skills and experience:

  • Holds a teaching or training qualification at Level 4 or above or equivalent (or is willing to work towards)
  • Conversant in the basic principles, theories and methodologies of learning and development
  • Experience in teaching or training in an adult learning environment
  • Previous experience of training course design, planning and evaluation
