This recruitment is for an immediate vacancy and will also be considered for succession planning for future Southbank vacancies

The Role

As a Community Beat Manager, you will take overall responsibility of an area adopting a problem solving approach, engaging with partner agencies and the community to resolve community issues.  You will also provide support, advice and guidance to PCSO’s and Special Constable’s, working together as a team to tackle community priorities, drive crime prevention and engage with the community.  You will be required to attend community and partnership meetings and to continually develop partnership opportunities. 

This is a challenging role which requires someone who is able to use their initiative, work with the minimal amount of supervision, and have an abundance of drive and dedication to the role, however it is one of the most rewarding roles within the Police for making a difference for the communities we serve.

To be considered for this role, applicants will have experience and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Is the Rank of Constable and has reached week 75 (with an acceptable SOLAP)
  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of relevant criminal law, especially PACE.
  • Has a knowledge of Neighbourhood Policing structures and the problems affecting the policing of a community.
