DEPARTMENT – LOCAL POLICING COMMAND

LOCATION – OSBORNE STREET

TERM – PERMANENT

HOURS – 40 HOURS PER WEEK

The overall purpose of this role is to provide a response to emergency and prompt calls for service in order to prevent or detect offences, preserve life and keep the peace taking cognisance of the Force aims and ambition. To undertake high visibility policing, engaging with and being accessible to Local Policing throughout the Force area.  Additionally, the post holder will work with partner agencies to resolve community problems, ensuring the right outcome for the victim and the offender. 

 

Applicants must have undertaken student officer training, is the Rank of Constable, and successfully completed a 2-year probationary period.

 

The Role

 

The successful candidate will conduct formal briefings to ensure individuals have the necessary skills, equipment and information to undertake their duties.

 

The successful applicant will:

 

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of relevant criminal law, especially PACE and assumes responsibility for personal learning.
  • Have undergone investigative interview training.
  • Have a knowledge of Local Policing structures and the problems affecting the policing of a community.
