This recruitment will also be considered for succession planning, for future vacancies.

As a DIB Constable, you will work as part of the Intelligence Unit, providing information and intelligence products and services to the Force. Additionally, you will act as a point of contact for outside agencies on information and intelligence related matters on a local, regional and national level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring adherence to Corporate Intelligence Policies and Standards, together with compliance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act, in respect of the Force’s intelligence network.
  • Ensuring that risks to the Force, BCU/Branch which may affect its ability to provide business as usual now or in the future are identified and escalated to their line manager or local Risk Champion at the earliest opportunity.
  • Ensuring that risks to the Force/Command which may affect its ability to provide business as usual now or in the future are identified and escalated to their line manager or local Risk Champion at the earliest opportunity.
  • Responsible for using the NDM and THRIVE model in all actions undertaken.
  • To champion the collection, correct handling, development and dissemination of intelligence within the organisation.

The successful applicant will have experience of the following areas:

  • Possess an awareness of a broad range of legal and procedural knowledge which is operationally relevant.
  • Is of the Rank of Constable.
  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of relevant criminal law, especially PACE and assumes responsibility for personal learning.
  • Has a knowledge of community structures and the problems affecting the policing of a community.
