An exciting opportunity has arisen, within Special Branch, for a dedicated Police Constable to join the Counter Terrorism Border Policing Team.

The successful candidates will assist the Chief Constable in the discharge of his responsibility for Preservation of the Queens Peace.

The Role

CT Border Policing delivers an effective, modern and flexible CT Policing presence at our ports and borders, working in collaboration to protect the public from the threat of terrorism.

The Humberside Portal region has the largest and busiest estuary in the country with five major maritime ports, Humberside International Airport, 41 small ports and wharves and 20 active airfields and 3 flying schools.

Approximately 1.5 million people pass through the Humber ports each year with routes connecting to mainland Europe and Worldwide. CT Border Policing officers work closely with the UK Border Force, National Crime Agency Border Policing Command and with the Security Service (MI5) in its task of defending the UK against terrorism.

You will assist the Security Service in its task of defending the United Kingdom against terrorism, espionage, sabotage subversion and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

The successful applicant will:

  • Is aware of national, social and political issues, which surround the role of the Police.
  • Has an awareness of the legislation relating to Terrorism and Immigration.
  • Is skillful in the use of questioning and listening in a range of situations
  • Be aware of National, Social and Political issues, which surround the Policing world
  • Be able to work without supervision, with a high degree of self-motivation

The successful candidate will have to complete SC vetting and will be fully trained to carry out the role.
