Hours:  22.5 hours per week

We are currently recruiting for a Records Management Assistant to work within our busy Records Management Unit, based in Beverley.

The successful applicant will become part of a small, but supportive, team with many different tasks to undertake, as no two requests are ever the same and we are able to offer advice and guidance to our officers and staff, throughout the Force.

Role Purpose:

This role supports the Criminal Justice Process supplying evidential media to the CPS, solicitors and internally to our investigation units and as such is demanding and rewarding. We also store and manage material including some of the forces historical archive and memorabilia which is shared through the Hull museum to the wider public.

Key Responsibilities:

You will maintain the secure storage of tapes and associated equipment examining, as necessary, storage conditions.

The post holder will liaise with Officers and edit copy tapes of ‘sensitive’ material following authorisation and instruction of authorised persons.

Skills and experience:

  • Literate, Numerate and Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
  • Demonstrates the ability to use own initiative and judgement in the interpretation of issues, problems etc
  • Willingness to learn and undertake further training as necessary
  • A minimum of two years clerical experience
  • incorporating keyboarding and administrative procedures

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police & Humberside Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years has been identified for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment.
